When Facebook 'Likes' Can Shed Light

研究人員利用這套演 算法,分析五萬八千名臉書用戶資料,推測他們未公開的個人資料,辨識性別正確率達八十八%,區別非裔美國人或白人的正確率更高達九十五%,區分宗教和政治 傾向的準確度也在八成以上,性格、情緒穩定度的準確度則有六十二%到七十五%。這套方式也能揭露使用者性向、是否濫用藥物,甚至他們父母是否離婚等資料。
「讚累積起來 不利於你 」
這 份研究凸顯越來越受關注的社群網站隱私問題,使用者留下的蛛絲馬跡,都可能被用來挖掘他們不公開的敏感資料。報告共同作者史迪威(David Stillwell)說,按「讚」很容易,「但你不了解數年後這些『讚』累積起來,會不利於你。」他說,這些資料能用於廣告、行銷,或心理、性格評估,但 也可能讓使用者卻步,因為透露太多個資。
另一名作者、劍橋心理測驗中心營運主任科辛斯基(Michal Kosinksi)說,這份研究不是要勸阻人們使用社群網站等新科技,只是在凸顯隱私方面的威脅。而且研究使用的技術相當簡單且一般,「行銷和網路公司花更多時間和資源,就能得到比我們更高的準確度。」

根據這項研究,智商高的人比較喜歡電視脫口秀「科伯特報告」(The Colbert Report)和電影「教父」、「梅崗城故事」等;智商較低者則偏好哈雷機車和搖滾樂團「毒藥」(Poison)主唱布雷特.麥可斯(Bret Michaels)。
