12月3日晚上,她在史丹福的一場公開演講上,針對她於5月中公布的2012網路趨勢報告,重新發表了許多更新資料。以下是瑪莉.米克針對網路發展的8大重點觀察與預言:
◎iPad的普及速度(上市後,前10季的累計出貨量)是iPhone的5倍。
◎安卓手機的普及速度(上市後,前16季的累計出貨量)是iPhone的6倍。
◎2012年底,全球智慧型手機的使用者人數預估將達到10億,行動手機的使用者人數將達到50億。因此,智慧型手機仍有相當大的成長空間。
◎2012年11月,透過行動裝置上網佔整體網路流量的比例已達到13%,遠高於2009年時的1%。
◎今年美國感恩節假期,透過手機與平板電腦上網購物佔整體網路購物的比例為24%,遠高於兩年前的6%;其中iOS系統的行動裝置數量是安卓系統的4倍多。
◎2012年底,iOS與安卓系統在個人電腦市場的市佔率將達到45%,首度超越微軟的Windows作業系統(市佔率為35%)。
◎2013年第二季,全球智慧型手機和平板電腦的用戶數將超越個人電腦用戶數。

◎2012年由美國企業開發的智慧型手機作業系統(iOS、安卓、windows phone)的全球市佔率將達到88%,遠高於2005年的6%;7年前,當時手機作業系統的市場龍頭是由諾基亞開發的Symbian系統,市佔率高達60%以上。(吳凱琳編譯)
