在六四25周年前夕，中國官方如臨大敵，除了佈署大批公安和警犬「維穩」以外，也關閉Google搜尋引擎，讓人見識到集權政府的嚴厲鎮壓手段。
根 據《路透》報導，「GreatFire.org」網站指出，北京當局自上周開始封鎖Google搜尋引擎與Gmail信箱，導致部分使用者無法登入或連 結。上次切斷Google連線是在2012年，一共持續12小時，不確定這次是暫時或永久，自上週封鎖至今已有4天，未來很有可能全面切斷。 Google發言人表示，國外主機端並沒有任何問題。Google在2010年將伺服器主機等搬出中國，移到香港安置。（余浚安／綜合外電報導）
