Android’s Google Now Feature Comes to iPhone

Google Now Coming To an iPad Near You

Google Invades Apple's Turf, and More

Will Apple Make a 5-inch iPhone This Year?

Android’s Google Now Feature Comes to iPhone

 By Matthew Lynley

With an update to its search app Google's GOOG +2.20% intelligent search system Google Now is now available for the iPhone.
It doesn’t have as deep of an integration with the operating system like it does on Android, but this Google Now version does offer a taste of one of the smartest features on Android.
Here’s how it works: You synchronize your Google account to it, and using a mix of your behavior and presence on Google, it will automatically serve up things like traffic results and flight information. They’re served up as “cards” in the app, and you can swipe them away once you’re done with them.
Google has slowly been adding a lot of its top Android services to the iPhone in the form of apps, one of the most recent of which coming in the form of Google Maps Apple AAPL +3.10% replaced Google’s mapping app with what many considered was an inferior version.
And it seems like Google is growing more and more to be the owner of some of the best services on the Web, like Gmail, Google Maps and Google Search. And today, Google Now is available on the iPhone.
For example, Google Maps is ranked in the top-15 apps on Apple, according to AppData. So is YouTube, and Gmail is ranked near the top 50 apps in the Apple App Store.
