YouTube使用者人數突破10億

今年剛滿8歲的YouTube，創立於2005年2月，2006年10月以16.5億美元的價格被谷歌併購，當時YouTube的每月不重複造訪人次為3,400萬人，平均每天看100分鐘的YouTube影片。
根據《金融時報》報導，這是繼臉書之後，第二個使用者人數突破10億的網站，未來很可能會危及臉書的社群網站龍頭地位。
擊敗臉書，奪取社群市場，一直都是谷歌的策略目標之一，若谷歌能將Google+與YouTube功能，進行更有創意、更緊密的整合，並成為威脅臉書的第二勢力並非不可能，不過是時間早晚的問題而已。
然而，在這些好消息的背後，卻有愈來愈多人質疑，如此龐大的用戶，究竟能否為谷歌帶來獲利？
影 音廣告是獲利來源之一。eMarketer估計，2013年數位廣告市場將達到420億美元的規模，其中線上影音的廣告支出佔比將從8％成長為15％。根 據市場調查機構Pivotal Research分析師布萊恩．魏瑟（Brian Wieser）的估算，去年YouTube的影音廣告營收大約為13億美元。另一方面，YouTube也開始針對某些頻道提供付費訂閱的服務。
