〔編譯管淑平／綜合報導〕科技公司Google具備新一代3D感測技術的實驗手機，預計11日被送上國際太空站，與美國航太總署（NASA）一款迷你球形機器人整合，強化機器人的功能和行動力，協助處理太空站上例行瑣事，甚至站外高風險任務。

這款Google「探戈計畫」（Project Tango）實驗手機具備動態追蹤相機和紅外線景深感測器，十分類似微軟Xbox遊戲機的Kinect體感套件，用於NASA現役的「同步定位保持、再定向、試驗衛星」（ Synchronized Position Hold, Engage, Reorient, Experimental Satellites，SPHERES），有如機器人的大腦和雙眼，能在擁擠的太空站內偵測出銳角地形，建立更精細太空站內三維度地圖，使SPHERES機器人穿梭太空站各艙室時行動自如。

「智慧球形機器人」（Smart SPHERES）計畫經理普羅文契說，這種行動能力正是機器人所需的，才能在太空站裡來來去去執行工作，而這得靠一套健全的導航系統。

探戈計畫旨在使行動裝置在3D感測周遭環境上能如人體感官一樣簡單，NASA看上其低耗能、低成本又具備電腦晶片運算、3D感測技術等，將其用來提升SPHERES機器人的功能。
