默克爾主張科網公司公開他們的演算法，即是Google如何決定搜尋結果的排列、或是Facebook如何決定你的Timeline較先看到什麼。她說，現在大眾都是透過搜尋或社交媒體來看新聞，如果不知道網站如何排列，會令大眾對世間事物有扭曲了的認知
