據知情人士稱，該社交網站一直在悄悄地開發被內部稱為Reader的一項服務，用為移動設備量身定做的新視覺形式展示來自Facebook用戶和出版商的內容。
該項目的開發已經持續了一年多，尤其旨在展示新聞內容。據悉，Reader的近期版本類似於Flipboard Inc.產品。後者是一個智能手機和平板電腦應用軟件，集合了多個來源的新聞。
