Amazon 將在台開設分公司 / strategy of Google

傳聞在台布局已久，全球最大電子商務集團亞馬遜（Amazon）， 終於在2月18日正式宣布即將在台開設分公司，還要大力徵才，但是，不是來賣書或者平板。為此特地來台的亞馬遜網路服務（AWS, Amazon Web Services）亞太區董事總經理Shane Owenby指出，亞馬遜是個龐大集團，他所屬的旗下事業AWS來台灣，純粹是要搶攻雲端市場。

事 實上，雖然台灣多數人比較熟悉亞馬遜的電子商務，或Kindlefire平板，可是，不少知名科技業者，包括宏達電、友訊、趨勢科技，都早已是亞馬遜雲端 服務的忠實客戶。這個趨勢，也早讓國內電信業者備感威脅。中華電信數據通信分公司總經理鍾福貴，便坦承，中華電信這幾年轉型雲端，最想仿效的對象就是亞馬 遜網路服務部門！

亞馬遜網路服務，是提供企業養網站等各種網路服務的基礎建設，像 是幫忙儲存網站上的內容，以及資料維護與分析等。看似並不出奇，超級節省成本，才是成功主因。晶鐳科技總經理陳均裕指出，他創業做雲端服務，用AWS就不 需要另外雇人與養伺服器，還可以隔海管美國市場，一個月省幾十萬，服務品質卻是矽谷等級，這不是國內業者能輕易做到的。

現 在，亞馬遜網路服務將在第一季在台設辦公室，除了希望再深入到其他產業，大力徵才中，也宣布更精省的網路節點服務CloudFront。Shane指出， 以前台灣公司把網路資料送到海外，通常還會有時間延遲的問題，所謂的節點，就是讓資料也可以更快放到全世界亞馬遜雲服務有設資料中心的地方，速度會快上許 多。
