It's year eight for Google's Pixel smartphones, which means the handset line has officially survived longer than Google Reader.

The Pixel 8 is a bit smaller than last year's Pixel 7, with a 6.2-inch screen; the Pixel 8 Pro retains the 6.7-inch screen size of its predecessor. Both phones have more-rounded edges than before—they mold to my hands quite nicely!—and the Pixel 8 has a matte camera bar with a glossy glass back, whereas the Pro model has a soft-touch matte back glass with a glossy camera bar. Both of the new models have frames crafted out of 100 percent recycled aluminum.

These new Pixel phones are getting a price hike of $100 over last-year's models. The Pixel 8 costs $699 and comes in obsidian, hazel, and rose. The Pixel 8 Pro costs $999 and comes in obsidian, porcelain, and bay.

美國商務部長雷蒙多（Gina Raimondo）19日指出，目前沒有證據能證明，華為有能力大量生產配備先進晶片的智慧型手機。不過也坦言，華為新機的相關報告令她感到擔憂。

美國共和黨人士疾呼，商務部應全面封鎖華為和中芯，停止向這兩間中企出口任何技術。

雷蒙多被問及是否會撤銷對華為和中芯的所有許可證，但她拒絕對此發表評論。

Microsoft and Google Unveil A.I. Tools for Businesses

New artificial intelligence technology is roiling Silicon Valley. For now, the most obvious ways to use it are in software like Microsoft’s suite of products.

“As we look ahead, we believe this next generation of A.I. will unlock a new wave of productivity growth,” Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s chief executive, said while announcing a set of tools Thursday. He added that new features would “remove the drudgery from our daily tasks and jobs.”

The new tools are more sober than visions of how generative A.I. might evolve or upend Google’s search engine, used by billions of people, but they form a crucial part of Google’s and Microsoft’s strategies to cash in on their A.I. investments.
